Hummingbird Feeder Stand...

Morning!

I had 2 black lamp stands for many years and I'm done with it.  I was about to throw it away...
....
Wait a minute...

I cut the light socket and cord off because it already had a hole.
Just hooked a hummingbird feeder on the stand.  Ta DA!
All done!

I hope I will see a couple of hummingbirds soon!!

Cobalt Blue Chair and Icky Floor of Hallway...

Hi !

I can't remember who gave me an old chair with twine seat. It was falling apart and I would hate to throw it away. I decided to give a try.... Paint on it :)

It had a kid's scribble note on top of the wood and I don't know what it says...
I won't LET anyone to sit on it or their feet would be up the air!! :)

* Marked by crayon on the wood*..

Years ago, I got a free pint of paint from online.  I don't know why I picked Cobalt blue so I decided to use it up.  So BLUE!

All done :)

I decided to put it on my flower garden.  I used an old enamel bowl as bird bath and come to find out that it was leaking.  Errrrrrrrr... rust hole.  I have to put E6000 glue to cover the hole so I can fill 'er up with water.
Free Bird Bath!

With out bird bath.  I think it looks good!!!

April 19, 2013 1972 Baron

I've been thinking about getting me a mobile home since last Fall.  I researched about MH for long time and learned lots of new ideas.  Till, April 19, 2013..

I BOUGHT A MOBILE HOME!!

WHAT AM I THINKING?

OH Yeaaaa, I bought it = JUST for me!!!

Ooooo Gosh!

It is 1972 Baron.  It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.  ( I was hoping for 1 1/2 bathrooms.)  It has 60 feet long and I think it's 19 feet wide.  720 sq feet.  I do not care what other people think of it. It's all mine!  Every room had a dark "cave" room!!  It looked smaller and made me feel "blah".

It has 18 windows.

Even, I can't open one window!

Bleh.

Every room has bad corner "rotten" woods.

ooooKKKaaayyy!

I am not rushing to fix all the rooms and I'm taking one at a time.

Here are the pictures .....

Eek...

Wow, I haven't write anything in my blog since last Feb 5th!

I've been real busy since last spring.  Really, I don't know where to start...
I sold my car because it had stopped running and looked like it needed new parts.  I can't afford to get it repair.  I just decided to sell my car and ended up using my 25+ years old bike!  I don't miss paying insurance and gas!

Here is my ole' Savannah bike and of course, it's PINK! :) The basket up front of my bike is very very useful and I'm glad that I got it!  :)

So far, I've been working on America Quilt and it needs foot border.  Then, I will add batting and back fabric.... Hand stitching... Perfect for 4th of July! AMERICAAAAA!

During night time, I am working \ hand-stitch on Colorful Stars. I think 2 more rows to finish everything! Woo woo.. and next will be bind around the quilt.  THEN, I will be done! *can't wait!*
What's next?
I will try to work on my blog and probably will change my border and background, if I have the time!

You all have a GREAT Summer and please stay cool and hydrate!!
Till next time!  XoX D.

Thread Spool Heart on a Frame..

Hi ya Folks!

I'm so excited to show you something what I made with old wooden thread spools that friend of mine gave it to me.... some were from my Grandma's that had been sitting in my sewing box for YEARS!!!  I didn't know what to do till today!..

I found a picture with GOLD ( yuck ) frame from Dollar General.  It was $8.00 but it marked down to 10 CENTS!!  Yes, TEN CENTS!  The picture was O.K.  I had to buy it and put it away till a light bulb dinged above my head! ( I should buy more but DANGGGGGGG!!! )

Ok Ok, I shut up..

The picture was O.K.

I flatly refused to buy for 8 dollars but it was on sale for TEN CENTS!!!  Woooo!

I noticed that the picture is made out of wood.  I carefully pried the picture off from the frame and put homespun fabric - Glued it around.  Be sure the fabric is flat and even or you will have wrinkle background.  I've thought about paint on the wood but nah...

Find old wooden thread spools as much as you can.  Friend of mine didn't want it and gave it to me.   It had been sitting in the closet for some while.  I found extra small thread spools from my Grandma.  It had been in my sewing box for about 20 years!!  My Grandma was an avid quilter. She saved all different colors of threads for her quilts.

Put it on the board very careful.  I used my eyes to make it perfect but it doesn't have to be perfect.  Use hot glue each thread spool and put it back where it belongs.  One at a time.  Patience.. Patience...

I painted black on the frame.  Let it dry and hot glue the board on the frame.  Ta-da!  I love it!!

Some of the spool has a price on it.  Some are 15 cents and some are 30 cents!  Right now, it costs me $2.97 per spool.

Side of the spools.  You can see threads that I do not want to take it off.  The little ones and white spools belongs to my grandma's.

Now, Time for me to find more from garage sales, rummage sales and estate sales. I would love to make more and also, will keep my eyes on Dollar General's sale of 10 cents!  :D :D

Love! <3
